Monday...monday...monday. What a day. I had a blast this weekend shooting a wedding at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens in Belmont NC and now...Monday. My monitor is covered with post-it notes of what I have to do this week and right now all I want to do is edit pictures. What gets me through my Mondays? Great music and interesting web sites. Check it out:
Music:
Caia, Olafur Arnalds, Pogo, Crystal Castles, Johann Johnnsson. Very good chill out ambient music.
Sites:
People of Walmart – Holy cow! This is Walmart’s finest at their finest!
Gizmodo – I’m a complete nerd and like to keep up on everything tech and some things not so tech
Lifehacker – se nerd note above
Failblog – Similar to People of Walmart
So I have also realized that I have yet to really write about myself on the blog. I think I’ll start changing that starting today. I’ll do my best to throw out a few interesting facts about me every day.
Fact #1 – I’m married to the love of my life, Meghan. She holds down the most important job in the family as stay at home mommy. To all of you stay at home moms out there my prayers go out to you all daily. Meghan is also, hands down the most selfless person I have known and will probably ever know. All the more reason I fall in love with her more each day.
Fact #2 – I have a watch addiction...so I have no reason to be late.
Well I hope the rest of YOUR Monday is great.

I had the amazing opportunity this weekend to second shoot a wedding with Anna Hollingsworth at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens. Even though it was humid enough to drink the air the bride and groom were a blast!

Dang! I got stuck in slack mode for the past few days! It has been crazy busy at the office and home so I'm having to dip into the archives.
When things slow down you'll hopefully be seeing more flash photography shots. I just got a 60" umbrella and stand, so I'm going to take flash to the next level...even if it's only a few steps up. I have a lot to learn about flash photography. Especially after watching the OneLight Workshop DVD's. If you're a photographer and interested in lighting check them out. They are worth every penny.
So we have been CRAZY busy at the office but in our spare time enjoy a little finger boarding....well most everyone enjoys it, I have yet to learn how they exactly work....one day...

I was really looking forward to biting into this peach that has been hanging out on my desk all day. I've been sizing it up since I got in this morning. Well the time came to take a bit into it and there was no drip down the face, no slurping back peachy juices, no flavor. Total bummer.

What office is complete without a plush Storm Trooper? In my book.....NONE!

So this picture was shot a while back, but I think it's still a beautiful shot, so I had to break it out from the vault. The shoot was for "teen" television promo spot. Most of the work that day was for video but I couldn't pass up an opportunity to shoot stills of everyone

So what happens when you get a few creatives together with a camera? This. I was inspired by a video that Blake shot maybe a year ago in super slow motion of people shaking their face back and forth and then making a sound of a horse....you know that sound.
The following pictures were shot at 1/1000th of a second to capture the sheer frozen beauty of horse noises:

What is this?!?! Old Bay + Large Wound Dressing = ???
The man behind the killer combo. Eric has crazy finger board skills along with amazing graffiti skills. He may even be a ninja. Who knows. He's from Kentucky and is a blessing to work around. Check him out HERE.

This here is Blake. My partner in crime and the other producer/editor here at INSP. He is the fortunate one to be in front of my camera more than he probably likes...since he sits and sometimes works behind me. If you scroll down you'll see many more shots of this guy. I really can't say enough nice things about him, he's extremely creative, gives everyone hugs and pushes me to be a better producer, editor and photographer. A true pleasure to work with.

Where have I been? Well nowhere. That's the problem. Once again I have neglected my blog for WAY too long. Like they say, procrastination always pays off now.
So to come back from my horrible absence writing here I'm going to set the bar at a picture a day. I carry my camera around most everywhere I go so it shouldn't be too hard....right?
So here we go. First picture. I rolled up on this gem on my way into the office this morning. All I have to say is "wow". Who would spend the time and money to do something like this to a Camry of all vehicles? To each their own I guess.
Tomorrow something hopefully equally as awesome!!!

I have been fortunate enough to work with Blake on a daily basis for about 8 months now. To say the least it’s been a pleasure. He needed some headshots done and being a close neighbor I was more than happy to make it happen.
